Coaching Corner 2026 February Newsletter

“It’s no longer an option to be the sole oxygen supplier who only breathes life into someone else’s existence, and especially at this stage in my life. If I’m feeling short of breath while I am attempting to breathe life into yours, it will inevitably be the undoing of us both.
I choose me first and I apply my own oxygen mask before I apply yours, not because I don’t care. It is because at this moment in time I have to love me more and I have to replenish my own oxygen supplies for my own survival. It is both a simple and a liberating state of being that I’ve come to accept with my ripening that I have no regrets about.”~ Carol L Hill, Founder & Senior Coach, LeadWhole Coaching & Healthcare Advocacy
As a giver in life, I have come to realize that there comes a season in all of our lives where growth stops asking politely.
It starts whispering at first—through exhaustion, discomfort, or a sense that something no longer fits. And eventually, that whisper becomes a knowing: what once supported you can no longer come with you.
This is not failure.
This is becoming.
To be rooted is to know where you stand. It’s understanding your values, your boundaries, and your truth—not as something borrowed from others, but as something cultivated through lived experience. Your roots are built from everything you’ve survived, learned, questioned, and unlearned. They are strong precisely because they are yours.
To be whole is to stop outsourcing your worth. It is choosing self-love that isn’t performative or conditional. Whole does not mean healed, perfect, or finished. It means integrated. It means honoring all parts of yourself—the confident and the uncertain, the joyful and the grieving—without shame.
And becoming?
Becoming requires detachment.
Detachment from people who only know an older version of you.
Detachment from habits that once protected you but now keep you small.
Detachment from expectations that require you to abandon yourself to belong.
Letting go is not about punishment or resentment. It’s about discernment. About recognizing what nourishes your growth and what quietly drains it. You are allowed to release what no longer helps you expand—without apology, explanation, or guilt.
Self-love, in its truest form, is an act of deep respect.
It is believing yourself when something feels off.
It is trusting your inner wisdom over external noise.
It is honoring your lived experience as valid knowledge.
You don’t need permission to believe in yourself.
You don’t need validation to trust what you know.
You don’t need to shrink your growth to keep others comfortable.
Root yourself in who you are.
Honor the wholeness you already carry.
And give yourself permission to become—again and again.
You are not starting over.
You are growing forward.
And that is more than enough. 🌱
Much 💕 love,
Coach Carol
